Niigata University (NU) offers the Summer Program 2022. The program is designed for students from our partner universities who will learn remotely from their home country with NU students. It provides students with opportunities to study not only Japanese language and culture but also develop their capabilities to study in Japan, and contribute to the globalizing world in different social settings in the future.

The program offers two separate courses designed for international students and NU students for the first four days. On the final day of the program, all students participate in discussion together, and interact with each other through collaborative online international learning (COIL).

We hope that this program contributes to expand participants' horizon and evoke their interest toward studying at Niigata University.

The program will be conducted online entirely from August 22, 2022 to August 26, 2022. If you are currently enrolled as a degree-seeking student in a university with which Niigata University has concluded a student exchange agreement, apply now!

  STEP 1:
  Applicants must consult with the coordinator of their home university and express their intention of participating in the program.

  STEP2:
  Applicants must be selected by partner universities, and the letter of recommendation must be submitted by coordinators to studyinjapan@ge.niigata-u.ac.jp by July 1, 2022 (JST). The format of the letter of recommendation will be sent to the coordinator via e-mail.

  STEP3:
  Students who wish to participate in the program must fill in the necessary information by accessing the URL or scanning the QR code below by July 1, 2022 (JST).
