Niigata University has requested cooperation to take thorough prevention and control measures against the novel coronavirus infectious disease (COVID-19). As the confirmed cases of COVID-19 are surging nationwide, I would like to seek continued cooperation from all NU students, faculty, and staff members to take extra caution on the following, and ask you all to take thorough control measures to prevent further spread of infection.
- Avoid "Three Cs": Closed spaces with poor ventilation, Crowded places with many people nearby, and Close-contact settings such as close-range conversations.
- Take utmost caution when you move out of Niigata prefecture, including when returning home or making a trip, and try to grasp the situation of infection in the destination. Refrain from close contact with unspecified people coming from outside the prefecture, and avoid contact with many people.
- Do not go traveling with multiple people, including members of club activities, to prevent further spread of the novel coronavirus.
- Do not hold social gathering with multiple people, including drinking parties while returning home, and drinking with your classmates or colleagues in places like restaurants, dormitories and apartment buildings. Please take caution even when dining together in small groups, such as family, being alert to the increased risk of infection.
All information including relevant notifications and guidelines regarding the control measures against COVID-19 is posted on "Information Regarding the Novel Coronavirus." I encourage you all to refer to the website.
