Niigata University Spring Graduation Ceremony for the 2020 academic year was held both on Ikarashi and Asahimachi Campus on Tuesday, March 23, 2021.
With a view to preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus infectious disease (COVID-19), separate ceremonies took place at several places, such as lecture rooms of each faculty and graduate school.
At the venue of the College of Creative Studies, after Prof. NARUMI, the Dean delivered the address, each student received their diploma following the video streaming of the congratulatory message by Prof. USHIKI, the President as well as the valedictory speech by the graduate of the College of Creative Studies. The College of Creative Studies has sent off their first graduates since the establishment in 2017.
A total of 3,027 students were awarded a degree or completion certificate: 2,318 bachelor's degrees, 653 graduate degrees, 8 doctorate degrees by dissertation, and 48 graduate degrees in the special course for school nurse-teachers. Also among the students with bachelor's degrees, 37 students were awarded minor certificates, authorized for the academic achievements in specific fields in addition to the degrees of their majors.
We sincerely hope that our graduates will spread their wings into society with confidence and pride and that their futures will be full of happiness.
