On October 11, 2018, Niigata University signed an inter-university agreement with I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University (Sechenov University).
Sechenov University, established in 1758 is known as one of the leading universities in Russia, having promoted interdisciplinary and state-of-the-art research covering cooperation and integration between engineering, technology, IT and medicine.
Faculty of Medicine, Niigata University has encouraged medical exchanges between Russia and Japan over a quarter-century, of which recently we have enhanced the future development with gaining support, such as "Inter-University Exchange Project", initiated by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology - JAPAN.
The signing ceremony held on October 11 in Moscow was attended by the delegates including Prof. Tatsuo Ushiki, Executive Vice President from Niigata University and Prof. Petr V. GLYBOCHKO, Rector as well as Prof. Andrey A. SVISTUNOV, First Vice-rector from Sechenov University. The ceremony was conducted in a calm and friendly atmosphere and the delegates from both universities confirmed their future cooperation.
Niigata University shall promote closer cooperation in academic and student exchange with Russia as a part of our East Asia Strategy.
