On May 20, 2018, Niigata University signed an inter-university agreement with Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia, which is a prestigious university founded in 1755 and has an excellent reputation worldwide for having produced many prominent graduates including Nobel Prize and Fields Award winners.
The university began cooperating with Niigata University through the "Human Resource Development Platform for Japan-Russia Economic Cooperation and Personnel Exchange" project that started last year, which led to signing an official agreement this time.
The signing ceremony took place on May 20 in the presence of many Japanese and Russian university officials as part of the program for General Assembly Meeting of the Association of Institutions of Higher Education of the Russian Federation and Japan held in Sapporo. Both of us, as comprehensive universities, will develop a wide range of academic exchanges, fully using our assets.
