President USHIKI then congratulated the graduates, saying, “Please rely on the spirit of " Autonomy and Creativity " that you learned at Niigata University, or place your trust in your own dreams and hopes, and move forward without fear, confronting the unpredictable future. Maintain your intellectual curiosity and never forget to keep on learning. I think it will lead to a "true strength" that is supple and unbreakable, like the willow tree, the symbol of Niigata”.
Ms. MAKIE Rika, graduating from the Faculty of Humanities, replied on behalf of the graduates, “Thanks to the cooperation of many people, we as students of Niigata University have had valuable opportunities to grow through a variety of activities including our studies. On behalf of all graduates, I would like to express our gratitude to everyone who supported our student life, including all the professors and senior students who guided us with passion, all the friends with whom we studied together, our families and local community, for their warm support.”
We sincerely hope that our graduates will spread their wings into society with confidence and pride, and that their futures will be full of happiness.
