Sado Island Center for Ecological Sustainability has been certified as a Sado SDGs Partner by Sado City.
Sado SDGs Partners are companies and organizations that work together with Sado City to implement SDGs initiatives to realize a sustainable city. They act to promote awareness of SDGs, solve regional issues, and develop sustainable activities. The Center's work on environmental conservation and nature restoration which uses the academic knowledge of science for symbiosis with nature has been acknowledged by the city.
As an educational research institute located on Sado Island, the Center will contribute to develop an island which can coexist with nature while collaborating with various local activities and utilizing its diverse research achievements as well as experience on forest, satoyama (woodland area near a village), and marine.
