Although the Japanese government has lifted a quasi-state of emergency in Niigata Prefecture, the number of new positive cases in the prefecture still remains high and it is possible that the virus will surge again. Considering the situation, Niigata Prefecture has issued notification and asked all the citizens to keep being alert. I would also like to seek continued cooperation from all NU students, faculty, and staff members to take extra caution on the following, and ask you all to take thorough control measures to prevent further spread of infection.
- Please continue to make sure to take basic preventive measures such as wearing a mask, disinfecting your fingers and hands, and avoiding the "3 Cs."
- If you notice any change in your health condition, such as having a fever and/or feeling unwell, please refrain from coming to the university and participating in extracurricular activities, and be sure to visit a medical institution as soon as possible. In addition, if any of your family member feels unwell, please refrain from coming to the university and participating in extracurricular activities.
- Please refrain from going out and travelling to crowded places or places with a high risk for infection as much as possible.
- If you need to have a gathering party with food and drinks, especially when you have it with people outside of Niigata Prefecture and those whom you do not regularly see each other, please make sure that it should be held for the shortest possible time with limited people, and take thorough measures to prevent further spread of the infection. When eating out, please use the restaurants which take thorough preventive measures against COVID-19, and be alert to the increased risk of infection, especially when dining together with your classmates and colleagues, or drinking together in the same room including dormitories and apartment buildings.
- Please refrain from participating in events with a large number of people as much as possible. When necessary to participate, please take thorough measures to prevent further spread of the infection.
- If you need to participate in the event with a large number of people, have a social gathering party with food and drinks, or travel out of Niigata Prefecture, please get tested as appropriate at Niigata Vaccine-Test Package Centers or drugstores designated by the prefecture before and after attending the events.
All information including relevant notifications and guidelines regarding the control measures against COVID-19 is posted on "Information Regarding the Novel Coronavirus".
