With a view to giving the highest priority to enhance the educational effectiveness and the quality of student life, classes for the 2nd semester of AY2023 will be conducted face-to-face in principle.
How to conduct classes:
Classes will be conducted face-to-face in principle.
In case non-face-to-face classes are considered to have educational effects or it is difficult to take infection control precautions, the measures of non-face-to-face, or the combination of non-face-to-face and face-to-face classes will be adopted based on the decision by Dean of each Faculty or Graduate School.
Points to note:
- As for the wearing of masks in face-to-face classes, Niigata University (NU) will respect the individual's independent choice and leave the wearing of masks to individual judgement as a general rule.
However, if you are required to wear a mask during any specified class such as teacher training or medical class, please follow the instruction of the teaching staff in charge of the class.
- Due to special measures concerning new coronavirus infection, all classes taken from AY2020 to AY2022 are treated as face-to-face classes. Credits earned during this period, including distance learning subjects, will be treated as credits for face-to-face classes. From AY2023 onward, this special measure will no longer be applied, and the number of credits earned as distance learning subjects which can be counted as the credits required for graduation will be limited to 60 credits. Please make sure to confirm the style of the classes when you plan and register for classes.
Discontinuance of seat management system – Colorkrew Biz:
NU introduced a seat management system (Colorkrew Biz) in April 2021 as part of its efforts to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infections; however, we have decided to discontinue the use of the system as of April, 2023. If you are still using the application, you may delete or uninstall it. Thank you very much for your cooperation.
